Cannes has been injected with more than a hint of Hollywood style this week as a host of stars from the world of film and music attend its film festival.
Gwyneth Paltrow lead the pack as she strolled down the red carpet to the premiere of her new film Two Lovers in a stunning black Stella McCatrney dress.
In the drama film Gwyneth plays the volatile neighbor of a depressed man (Joaquin Phoenix) who moves back in with his parents.
Phoenix, though, was unable to attend the premiere as is in hospital being treated for severe vomiting and dehydration.

Gwyneth Paltrow is looking a little unusual on the cover of the new V magazine. She generally tends to look very straight-up polished, but this is wacky for her.
In the interview she gave to V Magazine she talks about her macrobiotic diet.
I was macrobiotic for about three or four years, but when I got pregnant with Apple I wanted french fries, grilled cheese, and yoghurt, so it kind of went out the window. I couldn’t look at brown rice. It made me throw up. But being macrobiotic is basically about eating local, organic, seasonal food that isn’t processed, and that’s how I eat now, so it’s not that different. I haven’t eaten meat for about fifteen years. I eat fish, a little bit of dairy — not much milk — but I love cheese. We’ll make chocolate chip cookies and eat them, but sugar makes me feel pretty bad. I have coffee and wine. I’ve got lots of lovely vices.

Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she felt ’sexually charged’, while doing her scenes with her Iron Man co-star Robert Downey Jr.
The 35-year-old actress had recently spiced up her looks with killer heels and low-cut tops, and she revealed that she enjoyed the on-screen chemistry that went on with Downey Jr. “Robert kept me on my toes and kept our onscreen relationship sexually charged,” The Sun quoted her as saying.
“Sometimes I have had to work with people I have had zero chemistry with and it’s like pulling teeth. Because sometimes it’s just not there and when it is there, it’s like flying. It feels like you can do anything, and when it’s not there it’s a struggle. I’ve had that quite a few times,” she added.
Paltrow has secured a number of quirky indie films like Running With Scissors, and has said that she jumped at the chance to star in a blockbuster, though she would like to do something more. She has nothing but praises for her husband Chris Martin who has been working very hard on his band Coldplay’s new album.
Paltrow has been supporting Martin throughout the time he has been writing and recording the group’s fourth album Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends, which will be released later this year (08).
According to her, her husband has a very low opinion of the band’s last LP, 2005’s X+Y and he even deemed it “s**t”. And this has impelled him to make the new album much better, an effort, which Paltrow says she has never witnessed in anybody before.
“I’ve been around a lot of very talented people and a lot of people who really work hard and I’ve never seen anything like it. Nowhere near. I’ve never seen anyone put every atom and molecule of themselves into something,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying. vTo some people, you would say, ‘Wow that was a great film,’ or ‘That was a great book how are you going to raise the bar?’ But if you regard your last work as s**t, where do you go from there?” she added.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s pay cheque for Iron Man will be her first in six years, the Hollywood actress has revealed.
The star said she got sick of making big budget films and started opting for smaller, independent projects – but the downside was that she was expected to work for free.
And Paltrow insists that the Iron Man blockbuster, in which she stars as Virginia “Pepper” Potts alongside Robert Downey Jr, is the first time since then that she has actually been paid for her services.
She says: “I basically stopped making money from films in 2002. All the things I have done since then have been things I really wanted to do. And I have not made money from them.”
